Stuffing the Blank Bread Discs

Stuffing the Blank Bread Discs

On Sundays, I get quite experimental.

This Sunday, my guinea pig was a packet of bread. Some time back I came across a recipe on Youtube and I thought of recreating it and that’s how I came up with Bread Discs.

Here are the ingredients that you’ll need:

  • Bread Slices- Twice the number of Bread Discs you want to make.
  • 2 round cutters or any round object to cut out circles from bread slices. One slightly smaller than the other.
  • Butter
  • Stuffing: You can use any kind of stuffing. I used baby corn, spring onions, and cheese. You can try with sausages, paneer, mashed potato etc.
  • Tomato Ketchup/Pizza sauce
  • Chilli Flakes (optional)
  • Oregano (optional)

Method: As I have already mentioned, you shall need two bread slices to make one disc. Take two slices and cut out two circles, one from each, using the bigger cutter. Now, take one round slice and make a hole in it using the smaller cutter. This will leave you with a ring. Apply some butter on the other round slice and the ring and toast.

Place the round slice on a plate and apply some ketchup or pizza sauce to it. Now place the ring over it. What you have now is a hollow center. Stuff it with spring onions, sweet corn kernels and cheese.

If you are making it on a tawa, then put it on an extremely low flame. Place one disc on it and cover it with a lid. Make sure the flame is low, otherwise the bread will burn. keep it for 4-5 minutes till the cheese melts. Sprinkle some oregano and chili flakes and that’s how you can fill a blank bread disk!

Tip: You can make toasts of the small round bread slices that you got after cutting out the rings.
